The order of the songs and interludes is freely chosen before the performance.
The octagonal ‘fragments’ sheets should be cut out and pinned to a board, the ‘right hand’ octagon inside the ‘left hand’ one, so that they can be turned round like wheels, one inside the other. The initial and final fragments may be pre-selected, but all the rest should be the result of a random turn of each of the two octagons, the pianist playing the fragment at the bottom of the octagon.
Every effort should be made to integrate the fragments, observing the pedalling of sounds across the gaps, etc.
