Marc Tallet was born in Périgueux en 1951. He studied at the Schola Cantorum and the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, graduating with degrees in analysis and counterpoint. He went on to study serial composition and orchestration with Jürg Bau at the Cologne University of Music (HfMT), and lute and early music with Antoine-Geoffroy Dechaume. He participated in a workshop at IRCAM led by Pierre-Yves Artaud. His writings have been published in Recorder Magazine/Tokyo, and his music was featured on La danse à la Renaissance (Arion ARN 38746, performed by Ensemble Musica Ficta).
