Program note
The piece Sound Forest has been composed during 2007. The sound material comes exclusively from field recordings made during the "Antinioti" research project in Corfu Island.
In Sound Forest the initial soundscape works as a starting point for the compositional process. The reality is amplified and the concrète sound transformed into an abstract sound object. New complex textures introduce unheard soundscapes with powerful gestures.
Ecological patterns from insects, birds, rain, wind and other determine the compositional structure and become resources for further development.
